Cub Appeal is powerful when selling your house.  The initial glimpse of your property is the first connection a buyer has with a home and the impression sets the tone for the rest of the showing.

In some cases a buyer will choose not to look at your house after a simple drive by.  They do not want to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to deal with problems the current owner has ignored.

The Curb Appeal Formula:

The buyer sees:

  • Weeds in the front yard

  • Dying plants and clutter

  • Dirty driveway

The buyer thinks:

  • Neglected

  • Poorly maintained

  • Unseen problems

The buyer decides:

  • Forget it

  • We don't want it

  • Offer less than asking

  • Let's go

Conclusion:  Balance and soften the front yard with meandering colorful plants and flowerpots.  Sweep the driveway and concrete areas, remove clutter, trim shrubs and add decorative mulch if needed in any open landscaped areas.  Remove trees or shrubs that block the front of the house and make sure your house number is visible.

Drive by other houses if you are in question of your work and compare what you like and don't like as you observe curb appeal.
